Aristotle said that everything in nature has a purpose. He also wrote, “Nature does nothing uselessly.”
Today’s article is a guest post, from Lynn DeBuhr Johnson, a talented health
You may have had a health or life crisis of your own that brought you on a journey of self-discovery, and you want to share that with others. You have learned so much, and want to help others avoid the unnecessary side roads and pitfalls you experienced on this road.
You are a health practitioner of some
But how clear is your purpose to you?
Without a sense of purpose, you are more likely to make short-term goals, and maybe spur-of-the-moment decisions. This is done for the survival of your business.
You have decided you are changing the way you conduct your business. You may come up with different questions for your health histories, you may find that you want to talk to your clients with a different mindset, the recommendations you suggest to your clients come because of your advance in education. You want to meet their expectations rather than tell the truth as you know it.
Because of this, you are most likely not having as much fun as you could, and not seeing as many clients as you think you should. You feel that you must do these things to survive.
There are no boundaries because there is a lack of purpose and values. Values will help you define your boundaries.
I propose you set up a long-term career based on your core values and principles.
We ask our clients to do this. We know that they are more successful when they understand the WHY for the choices they make towards their optimal health.

The nature of purpose is such that it can move mountains, create abundance for you, and lead those who choose to follow you. Along the way, you have celebrations and sadness. In all of
If you were to be asked right now what is the purpose of your practice, what would you say?
Choose a purpose for your practice that is clear to you, that propels you out of bed in the morning and sets the course for your day. This may be the most important exercise you can participate in for your business! Yet, so few health practitioners do this.
So, how do you begin the process to do this?
It starts with one simple step – identify a clear goal. Create a draft of your Statement of Purpose. This statement will be a sentence or two. Make this Statement reflect your deepest desire and intent for what you want to bring to those you come in contact with.
This Statement will be irresistible to
Once that first draft is complete, take the next several weeks to think about and refine it. One way to do this is to set aside 30 minutes once a week to review it. Do this until you feel your purpose has grabbed you by the throat and said, “This is it!”
I look forward to sharing my passion and purpose with you in the coming weeks and years.
Please share your purpose and passion with all of us in this community. By this practice, we can lift each other up and be a support. We’re in this together changing lives.
