In the distant past, humans had to face the real potential threat of hungry tigers chasing them.
Our bodies are wonderful, because they have a mechanism for giving a quick hit of adrenaline then a longer dose of cortisol to activate the physiologic processes required to outrun the starving beasts.
The hormones cortisol and adrenaline are produced by two tiny glands no bigger than walnuts. They are called adrenal glands and they work hard to keep you safe in the face of danger.
And here it is, the modern day and age, and I have one question:
What “hungry tigers” are chasing you?
- Stress over the bills?
- Relationship problems?
- Trying to keep the kids happy?
- Car broken down?
- The boss hassling you again?
- The economy?
- The news?
While useful in the past, and in very real life-threatening situations today, your adrenals are now overtaxed by the burden of seeing everything as a hungry tiger chasing you!

A Problem of Epidemic Proportions!
Adrenal fatigue, burnout, and exhaustion is a huge epidemic and a major health issue that affects millions of people every day. Most people have no idea how damaging it is to their bodies to be under so much perceived stress…and for so long. Your body does not know it’s not really a hungry tiger chasing you; it merely responds to your feelings.
The bottom line here is that if you are like most people, you are currently suffering from some degree of adrenal burnout. It’s not your fault…it’s just the way society is right now.
Time seems to be speeding up, economic issues are tenuous on a global scale, relationships are disintegrating as fast as they are created, companies are folding and laying off their entire staff, and many people would rather text than talk to you face to face!
I am not trying to be alarmist here and add to the pressure.
The truth is…it’s extremely important for you to be aware of this epidemic. Unless you live under a rock, adrenal burnout probably already has its claws sunk in YOU.
The cold, hard facts
- It’s estimated that 80% of women suffer some degree of adrenal burnout during their lifetime.
- Adrenal burnout can present as: fatigue, fibromyalgia, belly fat, anxiety and panic attacks, insomnia, yo-yo weight gain and loss, bouts of anger, vertigo…
- and can even contribute to serious deadly diseases like hypertension, cancer, heart attacks, and diabetes.
- Adrenal fatigue is tricky because it doesn’t generally just “get better” on its own. Until and unless you step in right away and take it off the current course, it will continue to worsen until it becomes more difficult to overcome.
- In the worst case scenario, complete adrenal exhaustion can lead to death.
I am not trying to scare you here; I just am being honest and feel it’s important for you to know exactly what you are up against.
One of my mentors tells the story of a patient of his who was suffering from severe adrenal burnout. Her Adrenal Stress Saliva test showed her to be in Stage 3, the stage right before adrenal failure.
She had just been through a corporate buyout and had scheduled some time off after an extremely stressful period in her life. She decided to spend 6 months on the beach instead of doing the adrenal repair protocol he recommended.
When she returned she felt great. He retested her and to both his and her surprise her adrenals showed only minor improvement, even though she felt dramatically different.
In this state should she go back into a stressful situation, she would be back to feeling awful again.
