Thanksgiving Day Gratitudes: Dr. Ritamarie’s Appreciation Journal Day 19

By Ritamarie Loscalzo

Thank you

Today’s Appreciation Journal is especially important because today is the holiday of Thanksgiving in the US, where we focus our attention on giving thanks for all of our blessings.  Unfortunately, a big part of the celebration is focused on FOOD and the foods are mostly those that hurt rather than promote health.

My idea of a perfect Thanksgiving is one that includes lots of activities that put the emphasis where it should be…on giving thanks.  Part of giving thanks should be gratitude for your health and the abundance of foods nature provides to support and protect your health so you can enjoy yourself for many years to come.

If you’re looking to experience more energy, health and joy, join me on this appreciation journey and watch magical things unfold.

Comment below with 3 things you appreciate today, Thanksgiving Day 2011.

Dr. Ritamarie’s Appreciations for Today – Day 19

  1. I appreciate my amazing family and the deep love we share:  Scott, my husband, Eric and Kevin my sons, my 8 brothers and sisters, countless cousins, aunts, uncles and of course my parents, who are no longer with us in the flesh, who gave us the gift of life, love, laughter and memories that live on forever.
  2. Being part of Scott’s family, also very large, of sisters, brothers, cousins, parents, aunts and uncles.  We spent a joyful  day with 37 of them today, ages 14 months to 97 years.
  3. I appreciate the abundant gifts of nature in all the green foods I got to eat today:  spinach, arugula, lettuces of many kinds, broccoli, green beans, kale, celery, cucumbers and avocados!  I have a post coming up with a few new recipes.

On this special day of Thanksgiving, as always, I do so love to read all your appreciations, so keep them coming.

With Great Love and Appreciation,

Dr. Ritamarie

    Today I appreciate:

1.- The ability of this body to react to the changes I have made in food, exercise, stress reduction and way of thinking, and start healing.

2.- The understanding that discipline is not something that is forced on me, but comes from a deep understanding of the outcome of my actions.

3.-The joy in noticing that in this “Great Food Day” food was not the important thing for me, it was the people I was with. What a change in my life!

On Thanksgiving I appreciated that we went to a restaurant where everyone could get exactly what they wanted to eat – for me it was a big yummy salad.

I appreciated being with my family, and that our Grand Daughter Dani was able to join us this year.

I appreciated having the ability to talk to the family members that I couldn’t be with – to share the holiday with them as well
