Dr. Shiroko Sokitch is a board certified medical acupuncturist, acclaimed medical doctor, and keynote speaker. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1984 and the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, WA in 1990. She did two years of a general surgery residency at Swedish Hospital in Seattle before deciding that the surgeon’s way of life was not for her. While attending acupuncture school and starting her alternative medical career, she practiced as an emergency medical physician for ten years.

Since 1993, Dr. Shiroko has owned and operated Heart to Heart Medical Center, a complementary medical center in Santa Rosa, CA. She is quite excited to be the only doctor of her type in the area. Since January of 2000, she has also written an alternative medical advice column in three local Sonoma County Newspapers.

Shiroko has been practicing medicine for 30 years, including 10 years as an emergency room physician, and 20 years doing Chinese medicine and acupuncture. She is an expert at helping you navigate the understanding of Western medicine in combination with alternative medicine. Her unique perspective will help you understand what your soul and body are trying to communicate to you.

In May of 2009, she and her friend Sivan Garr decided they wanted to help a larger audience with their work. They began filming Perspectives on Healing, a public access television show that is now airing in 9 cities in California.

Shiroko Sokitch, MD, is an unusual physician in that she is able to provide a comprehensive blend of treatments including Chinese and western medicine. Since opening Heart to Heart Medical Center in Santa Rosa, she has become an expert at using many modalities to bring the body to balance and wholeness.

Dr. Shiroko has recently written a book, “When Love Meets Medicine – 7 Keys to Accelerated Healing.”
