Dr. Ritamarie’s Appreciations for Today – Day 23

  1. I am grateful for my trainer Melinda.  My gift to myself is a weekly exercise session with her and she pushes me hard.  Even though my knee is injured, she was able to push the rest of my body into gear!
  2. I appreciate my hot tub on cold nights.  We haven’t been ableto use it for awhile as it was broken.  Recently, I found out it would be covered under our home owner’s policy and it’s being fixed today.  Can’t wait to relax in in tonight.
  3. I appreciate my books.  Yesterday, I spent time resting my leg, writing blog posts and reading.  I appreciate my new depth of understanding about the hormone leptin and how many people I can help with resistant weight loss and hormone imbalance through mastering leptin balance and overcoming leptin resistance.

I do so love to read all your appreciations, so keep them coming.

With Great Love and Appreciation,

Dr. Ritamarie

My appreciation today is an easy one – it’s all about my Mom.

I’d like to appreciate Bonnie Jean Riley – 11/8/1943-11/28/2011. My mother passed away this morning, after a severe stroke four years ago, and a recent heart attack, and several small strokes. My mother was a loving, kind, compassionate person, who was loved by so many people. I was her number one fan! She was my best friend! Mom you will be missed by many.

My Mom taught me many things, but she wasn’t aware of how to eat healthy, so I grew up eating processed foods. Watching my Mom’s health decline over the years was an extreme motivator for me to learn about health and nutrition. Thank you Dr. Ritamarie for teaching us what our parents didn’t know. I wish I could have helped my Mom, but it’s not too late for me – and the rest of us – so hang in there (I would have eaten your yummy cranberries at Thanksgiving :).

I send love to all the Mom’s in the world -xxooooo

After reading Laura’s post I can only appreciate my family, with a special place for the memories of my mother.

Laura, I am so sorry for your loss. It does not matter what I say, the pain is deep and so very real. I can see you loved her very much, I am sure she felt that to the end.

    My heart is with you,

    Beatriz

1.I am grateful for my sense of smell this morning as I wake up to an aromatic crock pot brimming with split pea soup.
2.I appreciate the many supportive people who want me to heal.
3.I appreciate friends to play with!

Laura, Your relationsbip with your mom was special. I know you will miss her. My prayers are for your peace. After 22 years I still miss my mom. I am grateful for having a mom I could love so much. Hugs, Leila

Laura, my heart goes out to you for your loss. Like Beatrix and Leila, I lost my mom many years ago — 20 actually– and the pain is real and deep. Even when it’s “expected” the blow is the same.

Continue to take good care of yourself. You are an inspiration.
