Host and Guest Speaker:
Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo interviews Gerald Pollack, PhD
In this show you’ll learn:
- What the water is that is in the cells of your body
- How juicing replaces the water in your cells
- Why proper hydration is a central function of our health
Listen to the Replay:
Background:
We are two-thirds water — by volume. In terms of the percentage of molecules, that two-thirds figure computes to a lot of water molecules: more than 99% of our molecules are water molecules. Evidence suggests that those 99% don’t merely sit as the background carriers of the more important molecules of life, but are central participants. All that the cell does depends on water.
That leads to the hypothesis that proper hydration is a central feature of function, and therefore of health.
Join Dr. Ritamarie and Dr. Gerald Pollack as they discuss his research on the power of water to help us understand secrets of nature and health. He and his colleagues at the University of Washington laboratory have discovered that water is not always H2O. When interacting with many surfaces, water transforms itself into what is called Exclusion Zone (EZ) Water, also known as Structured Water or Fourth Phase Water. The energy that builds EZ water is light, so if you drink water that’s been exposed to light it has more energy.
Gerald Pollack, PhD, is a Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Washington and an international leader in the field of water research. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. Since then, his research interests have ranged broadly over the scientific spectrum, from cardiac dynamics and electrophysiology, to muscle contraction, cell biology, and more recently to the role of water in nature. Currently Dr. Pollack runs the Pollack Laboratory at the University of Washington, which focuses on uncovering some of nature’s most deeply held secrets. He is also the Editor-In-Chief of the scientific journal WATER, a multidisciplinary research journal that brings together water-oriented research from diverse disciplines. Author, Gerald Pollack documents his water discoveries in The Fourth Phase of Water: Beyond Solid, Liquid, and Vapor, and uses it to explain common everyday phenomena, which you have inevitably seen but not really understood. Professor Gerald Pollack writes in a clear, eloquent style. Whimsical illustrations and simple diagrams help get his points across in a reader-friendly manner perfectly suitable for non-experts.
