My 4th Favorite “F-Word” – and a Dairy/Casein-Free Parmesan Cheese Recipe!
By Ritamarie Loscalzo
Greetings from my beach condo in Florida!
How lovely it would be to escape like this more often.
While I still have work to do, and this is not a “full time ” vacation, it sure does feel goodto be able to slip away and get some beach time.
19 years ago today, I was blissfully gazing into the eyes of my now full-grown-man son! I remember it well. Seeing him again, after 7 weeks of not seeing him, brought back a flood of memories.
We waited a long time for his arrival, and the joy of seeing him again was almost as intense as the joy of seeing him for the first time.
Eric is in classes much of the day, but we did get to spend some time yesterday doing one of his favorite activities – eating!
He was delighted to get “real food”. I carried vegan tacos from one of his favorite Austin restaurants all the way to Florida with me...his request for his birthday present. Then we went to another of his favorites for dinner – Chipoltes. We are planning to go to an Ethiopian place for dinner for his birthday celebration. We might even bring along some of his friends!
In the meantime, I am working this morning so I can have some beach time before visiting him again.
And I will have more info for you about a new webinar/video series onDe-Mystifying Your “Day to Day” Hormones – the ones that are required for critical life functions, as well as your “fun” ones …and how you can get into a tither with your reproductive hormones when your Day to Day Hormones are out of balance.
Of course it’s not all as simple as it seems. The “fun” hormones also have critical life functions, but I am all about making things easy to understand so you can take action!!!
Raw Gourmet Nomi Shannon and I combined over 50 years of raw foods expertise into one handy information product to inspire and empower you to health and confidence around your food choices.
I’m off to the beach. I will take more pictures and post to the blog later in the week.
By the way, have you seen the new blog layout? Wow! Stacie (“Foxy”), the newest addition to my team, has been working up a storm to make it beautiful and functional. There’s even a new video and lots more improvements to come.
Much love, health, and joy to you,
Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo
The Fourth F-Word for Vibrant Health: Flexibility!
Near the end of February, I began writing a fun and informative series related to four of my favorite “F-words” that are keys to creating and maintaining long-term vibrant health.
FUN: The Physiology of Fun
FOOD: The Sweetest of them All Part 1 and The Sweetest of them All Part 2
FITNESS: How to Make Fitness FUN
The last “F-word” for Vibrant Health is: FLEXIBILITY
Before I get too much farther, I’d like to ask you a couple of questions:
When you think of taking care of your health, do you cringe at the idea of strict regimes that need to be followed?
Do you think about deprivation?
Lack of ability to go with the flow?
If you do, you’ll be pleased to know that flexibility is oh-so-important for health. And I don’t just mean being being able to bend down and touch your toes, either. While having a flexible musculoskeletal system is really important, and doing yoga is a great way to improve flexibility, the kind of flexibility I mean is flexibility in your heart, mind, and attitude….Read the rest of the article here

_________________________________________________________________________ Raw Food: The Answers – How to Survive Long-Term
by Nomi Shannon & Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo
95% of people who go raw FAIL within the first year or two…Why?
Over the past 27 years since committing to a raw food healthy lifestyle myself, and helping others to do the same, I began to notice repeating patterns of why most people fail with in in the long-term. So did my friend Nomi Shannon, author of The Raw Gourmet Book (and many others).
Together Nomi and I compiled answers to the most pressing questions people have about going and staying raw for the long haul, and we answered them in our new CD/Book combo.
We’ve compiled over half a century of our experience, training, hands-on know-how and wisdom and transformed this life-changing knowledge into TWO easy-to-understand accessible formats:
It’s available to you as either a physical Book & CD set that is mailed to you, or as a digital eBook (PDF) and MP3 (Audio) downloadable set.

I was talking to my friend and colleague, Body Image Coach and Weight Release expert,Laura Fenamore, about the moving presentation she gave at the Spring Into Vitality Conference.
I really liked the exercises she did on “rewriting your story” and not being “attached to your story”. I know we all got to experience a small taste of her work as she goes much deeper with people emotionally and spiritually. Like me, Laura loves people and wants to help as many as she can.
As Laura said from the stage, in isolation we wilt and in community we thrive. Most of us could relate to her emotional story of struggle and were inspired by her transformation. If you’ve been telling a story that’s holding you back, or you’d like to love what you see in the mirror, my friend Laura Fenamore has a gift for you.
I interviewed Laura on my radio show last Thursday and we had a very heart to heart discussion that I know you will find inspiring if you eat emotionally to hide some inner pain, and feel out of control when it comes to food.
